Awareness means gaining an understanding that discrimination and all forms of violence, such as sexual violence, can happen at any time, especially towards marginalized people (those who are excluded or disadvantaged due to their race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other factors). On a structural level, this means actively addressing systemic barriers, challenging societal norms that enable discrimination, and implementing measures that foster safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone. It’s about recognizing these issues, not ignoring them, and working towards environments where all individuals feel as seen, heard, and protected as possible.

The Waves Awareness structure will be extended to create an even more secure environment for you at the festival.

Therefore, we're excited to announce our collaboration with AllAroundAwareness*!

Our Awareness Team is here to support you if you experience discrimination or need support in any way. They will listen to you without judgment, respect your boundaries, and help you in the way that best suits your needs.

If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, the Awareness Team provides a safer environment where your feelings and experiences are acknowledged and taken seriously. Their role is not to question but to support you. If you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Creating a respectful and safer environment is a shared responsibility. While our Awareness Team is here to help, we rely on everyone to foster a space of care and solidarity.

If you witness harmful behavior, please step in, speak up, or inform the Awareness Team.

You can recognize our Awareness Team by their pink vests labeled “Awareness.”

There is also a dedicated Safer Space, a calmer area where you can take a break if you are overwhelmed. A member of the Awareness Team will always be there to listen and offer support.
